Free PDF to Excel Converter is a useful tool that can convert any PDF to an Excel-readable format without the need for Microsoft Excel or Adobe Acrobat to be installed.
As implied by the name, Free PDF to Excel Converter is a freeware program that can convert any PDF document to an Excel document, such as XLS, or even other Excel-readable formats, such as CSV. It doesn’t matter what program was used to create the PDF document or what PDF objects are contained within. It also isn’t necessary to have Microsoft Office or Excel or Adobe Acrobat or Reader or another Adobe product installed in order for this program to do its job.
Free PDF to Excel Converter can convert PDF documents that have just a single page or convert PDFs with many pages that are many megabytes or even gigabytes in size. Each page is converted into its own sheet by default and all sheets will be combined into a single workbook. The centerpiece of the UI is a data table, and you can add multiple PDF documents to it. You can add any number of PDF documents as a batch, set the program to convert and then walk away while it does its thing.
The process is extremely fast and accurate, and you shouldn’t expect to wait long unless you’re dealing with many large files. The program can convert nearly any PDF object into an Excel object, and this includes text, graphs, tables, shapes, and so forth. Free PDF to Excel Converter can also preserve formatting wherever possible. In addition, thanks to the sophisticated way in which Excel handles objects, even if there’s no analog for an object in Excel, the program can convert it as a generic object.
It’s worth noting that there are some limitations to this process, and you generally shouldn’t expect it or any automated converter to produce a polished finished product. You’ll have to do some finalizing yourself, but this program can make the job much easier by doing much of the work for you.
The user interface has an outmoded aesthetic and is very basic overall, but it’s also quite intuitive and easy to use. Drag and drop is supported in a limited way and you can use the program through a command line interface, but everything is rather simplistic. It’s also worth mentioning that online PDF to Excel converters have become rather common since the release of this program, but if you need to convert a batch of PDF documents, a local option is still preferable most of the time.
